ELCOVISION 10 ElTheo

ELCOVISION 10 ElTheo is a "device driver" for a tachymeter. It enables various tachymeter to communicate directly with a CAD system. The tachymeter became a 3d digitizer for the CAD system. Alle drawing functions of the CAD system became measurent functions. You draw online a 3D model of the object.

The integration of the measuring instrument into the CAD environment gives also the advantage that construction and measurement is one single process. You can also measure distances with a folding rule or a Leica DISTO and use them directly in the drawing.

The Stationing of the Tachymeter
Besides from stationing on known points it is possible to define a local system of coordinates This system of coordinates can be defined at will in any direction. It can also be defined by two measurements defining the the x axis, e.g. setting the axis parallel to a façade. If there is already a CAD drawing or a file of known point then free stationing is available too. You simply select the visible points in the CAD drawing and measure them with the tachymeter. The free stationing module supports 2D and 3D orientation.

The Measurement Methods of ElTheo
ElTheo offers 3 differently measuring methods. The normal polar measurement, the plane intersection measurement and the beam intersection measurement. All measured points are logged in 3D, and can be projected additionally to any plane. If you need to survey a ground plane etc the measurement is also projected into this plane but logged 3D. Sometimes you get very big coordinates for the measurent. Then you can add an offset to these measurement in order to get handy coordinates for the drawing.

Balanced Spatial Planes for Projection and Intersections
A spatial plane can be defined by as many as desired points. Additional planes can be defined as parallel planes or perpendicular planes to existing planes. You can name any plane for reference purposes. The planes can be used for projections, intersections, defining a user coordinate system in the CAD etc.

The Stake Out Module
The stake out module of ELCOVISION 10 ElTheo is used particularly to check existing plans or also for showing points in the location. Motorized tachymeters are directly controlled by ElTheo.

Additional Functions
In the projection measurement mode a maximum distance can be set. If the measured point is too far away from the projection plane the user is notified.

All measurements are logged automatically by ElTheo. These points can be transferred at any time into the CAD drawing. During the transfer you can also project them into a plane. The transferd points can be labled with their point number, coordinates etc.
